| About this Artwork: This wall hanging textile art is an aerial view of the town of Aarau, Switzerland. It is a custom piece, commissioned as a gift by a wonderful woman to her husband on Valentine's Day. The piece is based on an original aerial photo by Aarau photographer Jiri Vurma. Check out his website for some fantastic photography. This fabric art collage is handcrafted from cotton and silk fabrics, with landmark details highlighted in vintage silks, flannel, and upholstery weaves. I free-motion embroidered the Aarau crest on a silk applique. The border is a chocolate micresuede, gallery wrapped around a stretched canvas frame, wired for hanging. |
