| Returns Due to the risk and cost involved in shipping artwork, please try to be certain about your purchase prior to ordering. I am happy to send you more photos and information about a piece to aid in your decision. All of my customers so far have found that the item they received was more intricate and pleasing than the photos on the website could convey. However, if you feel you must return an item, I accept returns for a full refund within 45 days of the original purchase date. Returned artwork must be well packaged (in the original wrapping would be best) and shipped with Delivery Tracking and Insurance. I will issue a refund in full upon receipt of the returned artwork. Your refund is dependent upon my receipt of the returned package. Delivery Tracking and Insurance are critical - if a package is lost during return without insurance, I cannot issue the refund. I appreciate your care in the handling of my artwork. |

| Artist's Statement My concept of "Mixed Media" embraces a mix of processes and genres, as well as the mix of raw materials. For each piece I am often illustrator, photographer, digital artist, painter, quilter and collage artist. Most of my compositions are inspired by the play of light creating focus, depth and texture on the subject. After coaxing the colors and textures out of a viewpoint, I especially enjoy altering them to unexpected hues and contrasts. I also like to capture the sensation of energy that contrasts a focal point with transient abstracted background environments. I love the versatility of fabric as my base medium. The vast variety allows for infinite combinations of visual and tactile experiences. I prefer unexpected combinations of fabrics and colors. Some pieces are intricately sewn using advanced techniques, others are fused collage with top-stitching and mixed embellishment. I "paint" with threads of different types to give more texture, depth and detail to each piece. I use mixed embellishments including fibers, stones, wood, glass, recycled and reclaimed objects. By approaching fabric from a mixed media viewpoint rather than traditional fiber craft, I hope to introduce art lovers to the magic of fabric as an emerging fine art medium. Coming from a career background in high tech publishing, advertising and graphic design, and drawing on my university focus on marketing and art, for the past decade I've dedicated myself to textile arts, delving into original contemporary perspectives and mixed media. |
