| About this Artwork: . My favorite circus experience was while watching the elephants milling around in a fenced pen between acts. A boy was poking one elephant with a stick through the fencing. The elephant was clearly irritated, glancing back at him and grunting. Suddenly, the elephant put the end of his trunk into his mouth and loaded it up with a monster wad of spit. He reached the trunk back and sprayed the boy with a slimy shower of goop. The boy shrieked and cried to his Mum with great indignation! The elephant looked me in the eye as I laughed and cheered for him, and I snapped a pic of him to forever remind me that sometimes there is justice in the world! This elephant is created from texture cotton prints and hand-dyes, with stitchwork in a variety of gray cotton embroidery threads. The border is gallery wrapped on a stretched canvas frame, wired to hang like a regular painting. |
