| About this Artwork: . Alice was a very sweet-natured beagle who endured more than her share of abuse. At about 9 years old she was rescued from an illegal puppy mill, with a full litter in tow. The puppies were placed quickly, but no one wanted the old dog with infected teeth, malnutrition and diabetes. My Nana adopted her, then I ended up with her for 6 happy years. I created this portrait of her to donate to the annual charity auction for ROAR (Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue). The piece is fused applique of cotton fabrics, with a chocolate faux suede border gallery wrapped around a stretched canvas frame, wired for hanging. |
