| About this Artwork: Cherry Blossoms is a fabric art collage, designed from a photo on a beautiful spring day in China. The flowers are created with raw silk in pink, white, lavender, magenta, sage, and green. The background is pieced from cotton fabrics. I used a fused applique method, satin stitched with embroidery thread, and variegated cotton threads in pink, magenta and lavender. The background is thread-painted with cyan and teal variegated cotton thread. The border is raw silk in goldenrod, gallery wrapped on stretched canvas. Wired for hanging. |
