| About this Artwork: Hope and Fear is a fabric art collage, designed from a sketch I made of a dancer. I used a fused applique method with cotton fabrics, then zig-zag stitched with variegated color embroidery threads. Within the woman's body I painted in the dot pattern of the background fabric using acrylic fabric paint. The border black and white cotton, gallery-wrapped around the sides. Batting is organic cotton. Mounted on a stretched canvas frame, wired for hanging. |
