| About this Artwork: Ocean Wave is a fabric art collage, designed from a photo I took on a beach in Key West. Previous rough weather made the waves churn up seaweed, but the sun was finally shining bright. I used a fused applique method with organic and traditional cotton fabrics, stitched with variegated color embroidery threads, then thread-painted with cotton embroidery threads. The border is raw silk in a navy blue. Batting is organic cotton. Mounted on a stretched canvas frame, wired for hanging. Framed with a very cool blue-green mottled, curved frame. |
