| About My People & Places Artwork: Traveling is one of my favorite things. I'm intrigued by the variations in how people live and the different art, textiles, architecture and cultures we create. Again I find that textiles have the variety and attitudes (serious, whimsical, rustic, polished) that can combine to capture the essence of a location or a moment in time in a person's life. And of course, it seems appropriate to include experimentation with outer space locations within this group too! These works are sometimes based on photos I've taken, sometimes the result of drawings and sketches converted into fabric collage or mixed media works. |
