About this Artwork:
Snowy Egret is a fabric art collage, designed from a photo I took on a hike at the
bird sanctuary near Cape May, NJ.

The egret is raw silk in white, cream, ecru, yellow, gold, silver and black. The edges are satin
stitched, with free-motion thread-painting bringing contour to the body and feathers. A layer of
organic cotton batting gives the stitch work greater texture.

The background is cotton batik and print fabrics, with free-motion stitching in blue and teal
variegated color thread. The cotton batik border is gallery wrapped on a stretched canvas frame,
wired for hanging.
