| About this Artwork: Tappan Zee Sunrise is a mixed media framed wall hanging art piece designed from a photo I took while crossing the Tappan Zee Bridge (north of New York City) one morning. I loved the way the light was hitting the northwest edge of the bridge as the sun rose down the Hudson river to the southeast. The beams are intricately stitched and free motion embroidered to give definition and depth to the details of the structure. The steel beams are created from organic twill, the cables are reclaimed aluminum wires affixed on the back with eco-friendly adhesive, the border a pale blue microsuede. The frame is distressed silver painted ash wood. |
