| About this Artwork: This composition is a derivative work from a wonderful photograph in collaboration with New York photographer Otilius. The sidewalk grate is constructed of raw silk in shades of copper, taupe and brown. The tree shadow is black and green raw silk, stipple quilted with black and evergreen embroidery thread. The background is hand-dyed cotton in shades of gray. The tree trunk is marbled and hand-dyed cotton fabrics, with double batting and topstitching to give the bark extra texture. The batting is organic cotton. The border is a raw silk in ecru. This art quilt is gallery wrapped around a stretched canvas frame, wired to hang like a painting. Can be framed if desired. |
